Housing Action is about making sure everyone has a safe, affordable, secure home that is close to employment, school and services. It is about accessing housing-related support. It covers building and renting homes, repairs, and preventing homelessness.
Regular issues include high rents and a shortage of available homes. Finding suitable housing is difficult. Many properties are damp, cold, or unsafe to live in. Long waiting lists and evictions add further pressure. Hidden homelessness and overcrowding are ongoing problems. Disabled people and migrants often face extra barriers in accessing stable housing. Poverty and weak tenant rights also contribute to insecurity and hardship.
